What is The City all about?
Really, we could sum up it by saying that The City exists to help middle and high school students love God, love people, and lead other teenagers into fully committed relationships with Jesus Christ.
We want to boldly represent Jesus’ love to middle and high school students from all walks of life on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware. We are not about being perfect. We are group of real people, with real problems, who know a real Savior, who makes a real difference in our lives!
We meet regularly in a variety of different settings listed below:
The City Café is open every Friday during the school year (Wednesdays during the summer) at 6pm to all middle and high school students grades 6 through 12. Food and drinks are available for purchase throughout the evening. At 7pm a youth service begins which includes games, live music, a message from the Bible, and small groups. Check the calendar page for specifics on dates and times.
Apex is the name of our discipleship small groups. We meet and talk about topics relevant to teenagers lives, such as friendships, relationships, dealing with parents, surviving school, and God’s plan for us.
Middle School Apex (for grades 6-8) meets on Sundays from 11:15am to 12:00pm. Attend worship with the rest of the church, and during the greeting time make your way to the Prayer Chapel located next to the Welcome Center in the front of the church building.
High School Apex (for grades 9-12) meets on Mondays from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at Pastor Mike’s house. To get the address and directions, send him an e-mail.
*Apex meets during the school year only
Students have the opportunity to participate in multiple trips throughout the year. Some trips are local and others are far away. Here are some of the things we do together:
- Fun events, such as pool parties, laser tag, bowling, and roller skating
- Spiritual growth events, such as conferences and concerts
- Service events, such as foreign/domestic mission trips and service projects
